License Verification

Click the "License Verification" Quick Links button to verify the current status of a real estate practitioner's license. This ARELLO tool will research an international database for information you can use to determine whether or not the person with whom you are working is in fact authorized to assist you for a fee in a real estate transaction.

A HUD Code or a Modular Home?

Licensed Real Estate agents should be informed when listing or selling homes built in a factory. The difference between a manufactured home (built to the HUD Code) and a modular home (built to the International Residential Building Code 2006) can be determined by the listing agent. Both homes are built in a factory and delivered to the site and installed. However, each home is built to a different building code; manufactured homes are built to the HUD Code, a federal building code, and the home has a red HUD Label on the back of each section of the home; a modular home is built to the International Residential Building Code 2006 and has a State of Alabama Modular Insignia inside the home, usually on the electric panel box.
